A wedding photographer in Cologne costs, on average, between €1,500 and €4,000 for a full wedding day. Prices range from budget newcomers from around €800 to experienced photographers with magazine features from €3,000 upwards. But price alone isn’t what matters — what counts is whether the style, the experience and the chemistry are right.

What Does a Wedding Photographer in Cologne Cost?
The honest answer — with real numbers, clear explanations and one tip that truly matters.
What does a wedding photographer in Cologne cost on average?
A professional wedding photographer in Cologne costs, on average, between €1,500 and €4,000 for a full wedding day (8–10 hours). Newcomers and students offer packages from €800, while experienced photographers with magazine features and an international portfolio charge from €2,500 upwards.
The wide range comes down to experience, style, editing time and scope. An €800 package often includes only a few hours and unedited images. A €3,000 package usually covers the whole day, professional post-production, an online gallery system and personal guidance.
What does wedding coverage with Chirlyart Photography cost?
With me, prices are transparent and meant as guide values: registry office coverage starts at €450. A wedding reportage including a couple shoot — civil and church ceremonies — is €1,400 (up to 3 hrs), €2,500 (up to 6 hrs) and €3,200 (up to 8 hrs). An international elopement is available for 1 day from €3,400 and over up to 3 days from €9,999.
You’ll find all current prices on the prices page. Prices as of August 2026.
What is typically included in a wedding photography package?
Most packages in Cologne and NRW include 6–10 hours of coverage, 300–600 edited digital images and a password-protected online gallery with download rights. Often included too: a pre-shoot consultation, advice on locations and the timeline, and a keepsake print as a gift.
What often costs extra: a second photographer, an engagement shoot before the wedding, printed albums, travel beyond 50 km, and overnight stays for multi-day celebrations.
When should I book a wedding photographer in Cologne?
Good wedding photographers in Cologne are often booked 12–18 months ahead for Saturdays from May to October. If you want to marry in spring or summer, enquire at least a year in advance — ideally as soon as your date and venue are set.
For weekdays, autumn or winter, availability is much better. Elopements and small registry office celebrations can often be arranged at shorter notice.
Why are some wedding photographers more expensive than others?
Behind every wedding image lies, on average, 4–6 hours of post-production per shooting day. Experienced photographers in Cologne also invest in high-quality camera gear with backup systems, professional gallery software, insurance and continuous training.
Photographers with features in international magazines, years of experience and their own unmistakable style can charge higher prices — and are often worth it. Your wedding photos are the only thing that remains of the most beautiful day of your life.
How do I find the right wedding photographer for us in Cologne?
Look at at least 3–5 complete wedding reportages — not just the best single shots in a portfolio. Pay attention to the style in tricky light (evenings, indoors, backlight). And above all: is the chemistry right? Your photographer is the person who accompanies you all day long.
A personal get-to-know-you conversation — whether in person in Cologne or by video — should happen before any booking. Reputable photographers always offer this free of charge.
