Chirlyart Photography · Elopement Guide

Just the two of you.
The rest is scenery.

Everything you need to know about Elopements – personal, honest, made for you.

What is an Elopement?

No expectations.
No compromises.
Only your story.

An elopement is not an escape – it’s a conscious decision. The decision to have your most important day entirely for yourselves. No dress code, no long guest list, no time pressure. Just the two of you, a place that moves you, and moments that truly matter. Whether barefoot on the beach, on a mountain ridge, or in the alleys of a foreign city – an Elopement is as unique as your love.

Why an Elopement?

The benefits, that truly matter.

01

Complete freedom

No banquet venue, no set menu, no floral programme. You decide everything – or leave everything out. Your day, your rules.

02

Real moments

Without 80 pairs of eyes on you, you are simply yourselves. No posing for others – just real feelings, real connection.

03

Dreamlike Locations

Algarve cliffs, Fuerteventura beach, Cologne city life – or a place that means something personal to you. The world is your stage.

04

Time for you

No schedule to keep. Your Elopement day belongs to you – you have time with each other, with nature, with the moment.

05

Unforgettable images

No group photos on the stairs. Instead: dramatic landscapes, golden light, real touches. Images you’ll want to hang on your wall forever.

06

100% made for you

I don’t plan a standard process. Every Elopement I accompany is as individual as the couple behind it – from the first conversation to the last image.

How it works

From the first idea
to the finished images.

Step 01

The first conversation

We talk – via video, phone, or message. You tell me about yourselves: how you met, what makes you dream, which places make your hearts beat faster. No checklists, no forms. Just a real conversation.

Step 02

The planning – all about you

I help you choose the right location, the best season, the ideal light. Whether spontaneous in 4 weeks or carefully planned for next year – I guide you through the entire process. On request, I also recommend registry office locations, florists, or other vendors that match your style.

Step 03

Your day

I’m there – but in the background. I never direct you, I don’t pose you. I observe, I feel the moment, I press the shutter when it becomes real. You can forget that I’m there – and that’s exactly what makes the images so special.

Step 04

Your images

Within 4–6 weeks, you will receive your finished edited images in a private online gallery – in print quality, without watermarks, entirely for you. Every image is carefully selected and edited in my signature, cinematic style.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to get married to do an Elopement? +
No. To me, an elopement means: just the two of you, intentional, real. Whether you get married at the registry office, exchange your vows in private, or simply want to experience a special day as a couple – I’ll be there.
Which locations are possible? +
I travel worldwide. Fuerteventura, Algarve, Cologne, the Dolomites, Iceland, Turkey – or the place that holds special meaning for you. Your vision is my starting point.
Are guests allowed? +
Of course. Whether just the two of you, with your children, close friends, or a handful of people – that’s entirely up to you. There’s no right or wrong – there’s only your elopement.
How far in advance should we book? +
For destination elopements, I recommend 3–6 months lead time. If you’re spontaneous: there are often still options for short-notice bookings – just inquire. I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
What does an Elopement with you cost? +
Every Elopement is individual – so there’s no standard package off the shelf. We talk about your wishes and I’ll create a tailored offer for you. Simply write to me.
Do we need a civil ceremony for an elopement? +
Not necessarily. Many couples get legally married at their local registry office and celebrate their elopement as a free ceremony at a special location – this avoids bureaucracy abroad and gives you full creative freedom. Alternatively, you can of course get officially married on-site as well.
How many images will we receive from our elopement? +
That depends on the duration and scope. Typically, you’ll receive between 100 and 400 professionally edited images – from preparations through the ceremony to sunset. We’ll discuss the exact number during our initial consultation.
What happens in bad weather? +
Wind and clouds can actually create the most dramatic photos! In truly extreme weather, we’ll reschedule to a backup day or adjust the plan flexibly – I always have a backup prepared. Your elopement will happen, I promise.
What happens if the photographer is unable to attend?+
Your elopement is a once-in-a-lifetime moment – and I know that. In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend on short notice, I always have an experienced colleague on standby who can step in and cover your day professionally. This ensures your memories are captured no matter what – with no compromise on quality.
