What is an elopement?
An elopement is a deliberately small, intimate wedding – often just the two of you or with your closest people. No fixed schedule, no stage, no “everyone smile at the camera, please”. The focus is entirely on the two of you and on the moment: the trembling before the “I do”, the first kiss, the stillness afterwards.
That is exactly what I love about elopements – I don’t photograph poses, I photograph moments. You’ll find real examples in my portfolio.
Getting married just the two of you – and still keeping the memories
Many couples begin their elopement with the civil ceremony – the official “I do” – and follow it with a couple shoot. The two combine beautifully: first the official moment, then time just for the two of you in a place you love. If you like, I’ll be there from the registry office through your time together.

We talk about you, your vision and the location. No time pressure – via video call or in person in Cologne.
Planning & location scouting
Together we find the right place, the best light and a flow that feels right for you.
Your shoot day
I accompany you calmly and unobtrusively. You don’t have to perform – just be entirely yourselves, I’ll take care of the rest.
Your images
Usually within 4–6 weeks you receive your professionally edited images in a password-protected online gallery.
How much lead time do you need?
For an elopement I recommend around 3 to 6 months of lead time – that leaves enough room for planning, the location and (for a civil ceremony) your registry office appointment. Shorter-notice enquiries are always welcome, though: just write to me and we’ll see what’s possible.
Where do we travel for your elopement?
I’m based in Cologne and photograph elopements throughout NRW – but just as happily across Europe and worldwide. By the Rhine, in the mountains, on the coast or on an island: if your heart pulls you towards a particular place, I’ll come along. What does an elopement shoot cost?
All prices are guide values – your binding quote is created after our personal conversation. As a rough orientation: I cover a wedding reportage including a couple shoot from €1,400 (up to 3 hours). An international elopement is available for 1 day from €3,400 and over up to 3 days – including a couple shoot – from €9,999.
